undergraduate Policing Degree Courses

Our Professional Policing degree will provide you with all of the knowledge required prior to joining the police force and will also be of interest if you are looking to study at Master’s level or work in the wider security and criminal justice sector.

Why study policing?

The course has been designed to meet the requirements of the College of Policing National Curriculum for the role of a Police Constable under the Police Constable Entry Routes (PCER) framework. We are licensed by the College of Policing to offer the Degree in Professional Policing (DPP) – a qualification recognised by police services that is achieved prior to recruitment.

Why study policing with us?

You will study a range of key topics in the areas of crime, criminology, law, terrorism, associated psychology, sociology and criminal investigation. You will also learn through realistic scenarios and, where available, the use of a crime scene suite and Virtual Reality tools. Courses are taught by experts including former police officers, solicitors and criminologists. The university has strong links with a range of police forces to enable students to find out about graduate opportunities and working as special constables. Police forces also regularly give talks to students and organise events they can attend.

What jobs can you do after completing police studies?

As a graduate from the Professional Policing degree, you will be in an excellent position to apply to one of the many forces accepting the degree as a key part of their recruitment process. In addition to this, you will also gain a range of skills which appeal to employers both inside and outside the criminal justice sector.
