Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Our Master of Business Administration (MBA) is focused on developing your business management and leadership skills with a significant emphasis on understanding developing technologies in the business world. As well as an emphasis upon meeting industry developmental needs, you’ll learn how to be:

  • A business management professional, expert in the advanced study of organisations, their management and the changing context in which they operate, both nationally and internationally.
  • A critically aware learner who can identify how to fast-track business opportunities in a corporate or entrepreneurial venture.
  • A confident manager and leader who can convert theory into practice from a detailed and informed perspective, to advance the effectiveness of an organisation.

The 2-year version 'with Professional Practice' will give you the opportunity in your second year to showcase your practical experience by choosing to undertake either a paid placement in a company, a dissertation, a business project, a consultancy project or a business plan.

Within our MBA suite we also offer the following specialist MBA Degrees:
MBA in Tech Leadership, designed to educate individuals as general managers in the fast-paced and constantly evolving tech industry.
MBA in Governance and Risk Management which provides students with solid foundations on Business subjects and includes the aspects of the Law that are pertinent to organisational managers and leaders.

A choice of elective modules gives students the option to specialise in legal areas of their interest. 

In order to study this course you are required to have an Undergraduate degree with a minimum of a 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications, plus 3 years of relevant professional/managerial experience, and successfully pass an interview that assesses suitability to the course. We also offer a non-standard route requiring a qualification at Level 6 or above combined with 5 years of relevant professional/managerial experience and two professional references. You will be required to pass the same interview as the standard route.

Course Structure

Students will study for one year divided into three semesters of 13 weeks. In each semester full-time students will study 60 credits of taught modules. 

  • Data Analysis and AI for Strategic Decision-Making (15 credits)
  • Economics, Society and Ethics for Sustainable Future (15 credits)
  • Strategic Accounting, Corporate Reporting and Finance (15 credits)
  • Generating Value through Marketing in the Digital Age (15 credits)
  • Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain (15 credits)
  • Organisational Behaviour and People Management (15 credits)
  • 3 Elective modules (15 credits, 1 per semester)

The MBA Challenge modules form an integrative thread across the programme:

  • The Leader’s Challenge: Creating a mindset (1st semester) (15 credits)
  • The Innovator’s Challenge: Create your digital product (2nd semester) (15 credits)
  • The CEO’s Challenge: Strategy and Integration (3rd semester) (15 credits)
  • Capstone: Connecting the MBA with Your Career (runs in the 2 weeks after the 3rd semester) (0 credits)
