The University of Law (ULaw) today announced its entry into the German market through its collaboration with GISMA Business School in Berlin.
As part of the collaboration, The University of Law will be offering four masters’ degree courses in association with GISMA Business School, including MScs in Corporate Financial Management, International Marketing, Strategic Business Management, and Leadership and Human Resource Management.
Postgraduate students looking to further develop their business skills will be able to select from these MSc courses and study at GISMA Business School’s Berlin campus, located in the cosmopolitan Schöneberg area of the German capital, from October 2017. Designed by the UK University to be delivered through an institution well rooted in Germany, these courses provide a unique combination of business and financial knowledge.
The collaboration enhances The University of Law’s international and diverse offering, providing students with the opportunity to further their education in the centre of one of Europe’s most high-profile economic hubs. With more than 100 years of outstanding tradition in legal education, The University of Law is the UK's longest-established specialist provider of legal education. The exhaustive experience of its tutors (all working professionals in their field of teaching) combined with GISMA’s expertise in marketing and finance will ensure the relevance of the content and the effectiveness of the outcome.
Based in Germany, GISMA Business School offers AMBA-accredited degree programmes, executive education, and language programmes, all taught in English.
Professor Andrea Nollent, Vice-Chancellor and CEO at The University of Law, said: “The common values that we share with GISMA Business School, including our strong commitment to developing innovative ways to help students succeed and achieve their career ambitions, make this collaboration a natural step for us as we expand into new global markets. We look forward to working closely with GISMA Business School to support our students as they embark on their postgraduate studies in Germany.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Vassilis Konstantinou, The University of Law’s Pro-Vice Chancellor (International Development), said: “The University of Law is proud to announce the collaboration with GISMA Business School which will offer our business education programmes to a wide range of international students, not only those based in Germany, but also from the EU and beyond.”
Dr Steve Priddy, Dean of GISMA Business School, said: “We are pleased to announce a suite of new postgraduate degrees in Berlin in collaboration with a world-class institution, The University of Law, which is at the heart of GISMA’s mission – to offer internationally recognised academic management education in Germany.”
“As a unique educational opportunity for students, we believe this would create a new kind of business degree that will improve employability and long term career prospects,” added Dr Priddy. “Looking at a wide spectrum of business activities, graduates from the MScs will be well-placed to become competent business leaders comfortable in navigating both the British and European markets in the changing commercial landscape post-Brexit.”
