The University of Law (ULaw) is pleased to announce that its employability rates for 2017 leavers have increased to 97%, compared to 96% for 2016 leavers. What’s more, The University of Law’s recent employability data also shows that 93% of its LPC leavers in 2017 entered into a career in law.
According to the most recent figures from The University of Law, the number of students achieving training contracts has remained consistent - reflecting the stability in training contract numbers as recently shown in the Law Society Annual Report.
The new data reveals that for the BPTC an impressive 71% of The University of Law’s full-time UK/EEA students graduating in 2017 secured a pupillage within one year of successfully completing their course.
John Watkins, Employability Director at The University of Law, said: “At The University of Law we place huge focus on the employability of our students. We ensure that each student can access both the support and the resources they need to improve their employability.
“This year’s figures are testament to our dedication to our students, and reaffirm our position that employability should be top of the agenda. In 2016 we introduced a ‘Career Development Workshop – Your Future’, a day-long session delivered on every campus within two weeks of starting the first year of study. It was very well received and will continue to take place, as we feel offering these support systems to students from day one is crucial.
“At the University we also offer an ‘Employment Promise’ on fees for LPC students. This is a reassurance that if the worst comes to the worst, students can have their fees back if employment isn’t secured. Therefore, with the students we are equally committed to striving towards career success. We also offer careers support for alumni for up to 18 months.”
